The Power ofAccountability

It’s always amazing to me how some people never want to be accountable for their own words and actions. For instance, at mybusiness we schedule customers for different services. We give each customer a 15 minute grace period to make their appointment. When some ofthem are late, they will sometimes blame us. They will say things like, “Why did you schedule meat this time?” (Even though they agreed to that specific time), or “You should have called me, | over slept.” They blame everyone else for their decisions and mistakes, but never themselves.

Accountability is about owning your choices — the good, the bad, and the ugly. It’s realizing that your life is your responsibility. You have to be real with yourself and look in the mirror and own your part in the situation. That’s half the battle. This is the first step to healing and growth for all parties involved. After acknowledging your mistakes, now do whatever you need to do to make it right.

Let’s be honest, being accountable is not always comfortable. It means admitting when you’ve fallen short and that can be hard, but God cares more about our development than our comfort.

Accountability takes humility because you definitely have to humble yourself to confront your shortcomings and it’s ok.

There’s no shame in this. You’re not weak because you own up to your mistakes. It actually takes great strength to admit our faults. So let’s walk in this strength and become better people and let accountability be our super power.
